Grace Hopper was one the pioneers of modern computing. After graduating from Vassar and Yale, he joined the Navy in WW II and got involved with the development of the earliest computers there. She helped developed COBOL, one of the first computer languages, among other interesting contributions.

I meet her when I was in college at RPI. She gave a lecture and I got to chat with her at the end. Pretty cool.

Sometimes it's good to remember those who came before us. We truly do stand on the shoulders of giants.
